2017AVAConvention.org collects information at two main points: (1) when someone submits a query from the contact page, and (2) when someone signs up to be a Volunteer Member.
To ask a question of the Convention Committee from the contact page, you provide your first and last name and email address. 2017AVAConvention.org will not sell, share, or rent this information to outside parties.
When you sign up to become a volunteer member, you will be asked for your first and last name, email address, home address, and phone number. Your first name and the first initial of your last name (e.g., John D.) will appear on any signup sheet, indicating that you have signed up for a particular volunteer job, and is viewable by those who have access to the signup sheet. Your email address and phone number are collected so the 2017AVAConvention.org account holder who created a volunteer signup sheet or 2017AVAConvention.org can contact you about matters relating to 2017AVAConvention.org, if necessary.
2017AVAConvention.org will not sell, share, or rent your email address, home address or phone number to outside parties.
2017AVAConvention.org uses Google Analytics to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement on the site, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.
Click here to proceed to the Contact Us page, complete the form and submit it. We will answer the question just as soon as possible.
− Dave asks: I can't wait for the convention. How can I view the video that was shown during the presentation made in Portland?
− Actually, it was Salem. I have placed the video on the convention web site, http://2017avaconvention.org/downloads.html where you can either view it or download it and view it. There are several different formats.
− Carol says: Suggest lodging information on the website, especially interested in any RV lodging.
− Of course, the first option is to stay at the convention hotel, the Billings Hotel and Convention Center. You can make your reservations now using code AVA617. In the Billings area there are several other hotel chains and at least three RV parks. We are working on negotiating a discount, but I do not yet have finalized information for that.
− From Brian: For pre- and post-convention walks, is the expectation that we will find and secure our own lodgings, or will AVA suggest locations with special rates as it's doing for the Convention? I ask because if we're on our own, I want to get a head start in securing lodging through providers such as Airbnb.
− The expectation is you will find and secure your own lodging. We are working with several different hotels and RV parks in Buffalo, Red Lodge and Cody (as well as Billings in case you miss out on the convention hotel) for favorable discounts, and will make those known as soon as they are finalized.
During the 19th AVA Biennial Convention, the Rocky Mountain Region (for Billings, Montana) and the Northeast Region (for Albany, New York) presented options for the location of the 20th AVA Biennial Convention. A vote was taken, and the Rocky Mountain Region was selected to present the convention in Billings, Montana. The convention will be held the week after Crazy Horse, June 7-9, 2017.
The 20th AVA Biennial Convention Committee was formed. Sherry Sayers is the ChairPerson, Lynette Reagan is the Volunteer Coordinator, and Charlie Gentile is the "SpokesPerson". The AVA Liaison to the convention committee is the Rocky Mountain Regional Director, Frank Sayers.
Although none of us live in Montana, we have each made several trips to do the coordination required. This convention will be a little bit different, with not as many events, fewer days, and more time between functions. We will not only be able to complete the business of the AVA, but have time to thoroughly enjoy the beautiful state of Montana. Hope to see you there.
